Marcus Morris 2019

In February 2019, before the NBA All-Star game, I was attending and working at the Miami Hoop School academy, where I had been assisting Andrew Moran during NBA player training. 6 days before returning to Argentina, I had the proposal to travel as an assistant coach to Las Vegas during Mid-season, to work for the Morris twins.

Marcus and Markieff Morris came with the purpose of advancing in their techniques and persisting in effectiveness from separation work, concepts such as Hand off, Pick and pop , as well as under physical conditioning.

Andrew and I were studying their roles and we knew how to link the game from the low post, mid post and high post. We also worked on physical contact during technical-tactic trainings. Both trained their outside game as big forwards looking for different footworks on floaters, and thus also gaining space from the weak side in the zone by sealing.

We also work with possession of the ball against perimeter aids. The rigorousness of the reading on their tactical possibilities due to physical capacity made the trained always generate opportunities in key games, as roll players with the fewest possible dribbles
